This is now running as a sandbox (as of Nov 2026).
We are playing theme as historical western (to evolve into weird west). Its 1846 Oregon Territory after the Oregon Treaty. Folks are going to settle under company charter in Tillamook Bay for a fictional settlement called Cedar Point.
This is not running as a mush with plots and staff running things, this is more as a TTG among a couple friends. They would welcome a few extra faces, but strictly in the context of the story being run.
The group is responding to recruitment for settlers by Missouri & Columbia Trade Co. to settle at the bay, its a former settlement that was previously abandoned. Joint occupancy of the area has ended (British & US) with the treaty signed in June.
The Oregon Trail ends at Oregon City (current city south of future Portland). Astoria at end of Columbia River has a military outpost/settlement. This is a dangerous coast, with shoals and sandbars in the estuary. The USS Shark, a 1.5 ton schooner has wrecked just prior to arrival by our settlers seeking Elias Mercer at the company house in the Astoria settlement, little remains at the currents and tides churned the flotsam until little remains.
Contracts have been signed by the first group headed for Cedar Point. The are is still home to indigenous peoples (this is not a campaign that will involve conflicts, relocations, etc.), the area settled is avoided by the local people. Under contract by the company, settlers have six months to establish themselves or get the boot (but still retain debt to the company from materials and tools from the company house).
Players are settlers intent on succeeding; no bad characters, against the party characters, competitive characters, grey hats, scrupulous intents, etc. - its team and PvE only, with characters intending to build community with other characters for success of settlement.
